Blended vs Traditional Learning

Training news! We now offer TWO methods to complete our courses: Traditional Learning and Blended Learning.

“Traditional learning” is when you complete all of the course, in person, at an instructor led course.

“Blended learning” is when you complete part of the course online and then the rest (Practical simulations, CPR, Testing, etc) at an instructor led course.

“Online learning” is when you complete all the course work online, and do not attend an instructor led course.

Here is a short video on Traditional vs Blended Learning

We offer a guarantee that if the students find that the blended learning is not for them then they can switch to a traditional in course class – we would change the booking to a traditional session and have the difference paid in price for the traditional learning.

You can also try some of the online course before you pay for it. Please contact us to register you online.

For the blended courses the students need to spend time online completing the course material before the practical day / session. Then they attend a practical and assessment session with the instructor to complete their training.

Here are the expected duration’s to complete the online part of the courses:

CPR is 90 minutes online then 90 minutes in class.
Level 1 is 4-7 hours online then 3-4 hours in class.
Level 1 & 2 is 6-10 hours online then 4-5 hours in class.
Level 3 is 4-8 hours online then 6-7 hours in class.

Not sure if you will like learning online? Have a look at this 2 minute video and learn how to do CPR with just compressions and no one to help.

Additional info blended courses…

Students would use any web browser to login and complete the training, alternatively they can download the app onto their phone. The app is especially useful if the students want to download the content onto their phones for offline use.

There are a variety of videos, animations, downloads and quiz sections which help the students progress through the course. There is a practical, in person component for the course too – so we can ensure you have the hands on practice required to do CPR and First aid.

What’s more the students remain connected to the online site for the duration of their certificate, so they can review the information and videos any time. (Neat!)

The beauty of this blended learning system is that someone can do the course online or offline and where ever they are. Also our courses require very little data to make it easily accessible for everyone. (Is that not great?)

The blended courses are assessed in the same way as the traditional courses this does not affect the certification or accreditation for the course.

Should you wish to try our Demo “Essential hands only CPR” course for free, to see what students would experience, then please go to www.firstaidcourses.co.za and self register.
